I’m a self-taught Los Angeles based photographer. I got my first break by sneaking into the art dept at Capitol Records where I somehow persuaded the head of the art dept to look at my portfolio đ which amazingly resulted in getting my first album cover job for Capitol (photographing rapper Schooly-D)
When shooting commercial work, my focus is on creating simple and incisive photographs, quietly helping to shape the persona people present to the world. The trust people have in me brings out a strong sense of authenticity and intimacy.
I am drawn more and more to creating personal work, most recently documenting life here in the Fairfax district. In general, the subject matter I most often gravitate towards is unspectacular, my images stubbornly undramatic, with no âdecisive momentâ.
